Collingswood Restaurants Serving Up Amazing Food
I lived in Collingswood for about four years, and even though Iâm no longer a resident, I havenât gone very far. I still hop on the Patco from Philadelphia and head over to this amazing town for dinner. Within walking distance of the Patco station, all along Haddon Ave, youâll find top-notch restaurants, shops, and boutiques. Collingswood has that small-town feel, with big-city flavor. If you havenât checked out the restaurant scene here, youâre missing out. This town has it all, middle eastern cuisine, brunch restaurants, hibachi, Thai food, and an overwhelming amount of Italian restaurants (a common joke among people familiar with the area). Not to mention â most of these restaurants are BYOB, a huge plus in my opinion. While living in the area I was able to try almost all of the restaurants along Haddon Ave and in the surrounding area. I probably head back once a month to shop (usually dropping way too much money at BeSpoke â a plant shop you should definitely drop by) and grab dinner. Check out my list below for the best restaurants in Collingswood. Best Restaurants in Collingswood
Hearthside801 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Hearthside opened up in 2017 by owners Dominic Piperno and wife Lindsay. This corner restaurant is one of my favorites in Collingswood. Itâs definitely a more upscale experience, great for a date night or for a special event. You can even reserve the chefâs table which can accommodate a larger party. With an open kitchen, youâll get to experience how the food is prepped. Everything is cooked in the hearth in the restaurant (hence the name). Seats are limited, but you can reserve a spot right at the hearth for a unique experience. Now for the food â I canât say I have a favorite, itâs all just so good. For small plates, I would recommend the Gulf Prawns, Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, or Grilled Romaine Salad. If youâre getting some medium dishes, try out the Orecchiette; fennel sausage, broccoli rabe, and roasted long hots. The large plates, you canât go wrong with either of them, really depends on your mood. However, if youâre in the mood to splurge I would suggest going for the 40 oz. Prime Dry-Aged Porterhouse or Whole Roasted Bronzino. Bistro Di Marino492 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Bistro Di Marino is one of my top Italian restaurants in Collingswood. They have a few locations around South Jersey, so even if youâre not near Collingswood, youâll be able to enjoy their amazing food. Located right on Haddon Ave, itâs a convenient walk from anywhere in Collingswood. If itâs nice out I would suggest getting a seat on their outdoor patio! They have a large menu, so this spot is generally good if youâre with a large group. Sagami Japanese Restaurant37 Crescent Blvd, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Next up, Sagami Japanese Restaurant has to be my number-one destination for sushi as well as traditional Japanese cuisine whenever Iâm in town. The wood interior and warm atmosphere of Sagami makes the entire place feel as though it was plucked from the streets of Tokyo and gently placed here in Collingswood. I like to head here for dinner, mostly, but they serve a fantastic lunch menu that I love to try when Iâve got some time in the middle of the day. Indiya608 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Check out this next place, Indiya, off of Haddon Avenue the next time you need a little bit of delicious Indian food in Collingswood. Their menu here at Indiya is filled with traditional delicacies that make it one of my favorite places to go for dinner in Collingswood. I always go right for an order of their delicious vegetable samosas to start, and then I order tandoori chicken for an entree which I highly recommend to anyone going here to eat. Another thing we love about Indiya is their dessert menu, so be sure to save room for tasty treats like mango and coconut sorbet or their gulab jamun. Sabrinaâs Cafe â Collingswood714 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 One of my favorite things to do is to go out to eat for breakfast or, even better, brunch, and there are so many great restaurants in Collingswood NJ to choose from, but no one does brunch better than Sabrinaâs Cafe. This laid-back American restaurant serves up some of my favorite breakfast classics like French toast, shrimp and grits, as well as fried chicken and waffles, each with their own unique twist. If you like French toast, then this is the place for you because they use thick, buttery challah bread for all of their French toast, even going so far as to stuff it with decadent cream cheese. Li Beirut619 W Collings Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08107 Depending on where you live, it can be rare to find a great Lebanese restaurant, so whenever Iâm in the mood for some incredible shawarma, I always make the trip over to Li Beirut in Collingswood. Li Beirut is one of my absolute favorite Collingswood restaurants to go to when I want to immerse myself in a foreign culture. Their âTaste of Lebanonâ menu option is the one to pick if you want to take a culinary tour of Lebanon right here in New Jersey. With the âTaste of Lebanonâ option, it serves either 2 or 4 patrons, and you are given the choice of a salad, specialty entree, and a dessert for a great deal! The Pop Shop Collingswood729 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 The Pop Shop is such a great place to eat in Collingswood, in my opinion, because there are not many other restaurants like it that Iâve had the pleasure of coming across in my travels. This place is great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner alike inside a retro, 50s-themed diner full of Americana culture and delicious food. Sandwiches are the specialty here at The Pop Shop and no matter which one you pick, Iâm confident youâll enjoy it. If youâre having trouble making up your mind, then we recommend trying one of their turkey b.l.t. club sandwiches or a buffalo fried chicken sandwich. The Kitchen Consigliere700 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 The Kitchen Consigliere is another one of my favorite Haddon Avenue restaurants in Collingswood because of its refined Italian ristorante ambiance and delectable cuisine that reminds me of my Italian grandmotherâs cooking. Youâll find all the classic Italian cuisine you could ever want here at The Kitchen Consigliere and it all tastes homemade. I absolutely love their veal Milanese and their eggplant parmesan, but I rarely ever eat there without having some of their delicious pasta to start with. Circles Thai8 Powell Ln, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Up next is Circles Thai, a wonderful Thai restaurant serving authentic cuisine that you can find off of Powell Lane, right across the street from the Devilâs Creek Brewery, and I would say that they are easily one of the most delightful restaurants in Collingswood, New Jersey. I am a massive fan of Thai curry, so whenever I am in the mood for it (which is quite often), then I will gladly hop in the car and cruise on over to Circles Thai because they have 7 different flavors of curry to choose from that are all so good itâs hard to choose a favorite. Il Fiore693-695 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Il Fiore is such a nice place to eat dinner in Collingswood, especially if you have a nice bottle of wine that youâve been saving for a delicious meal and you want to bring it with you to the restaurant since there is a BYOB option here. I wholeheartedly recommend ordering an appetizer of calamari here at Il Fiore, and then I would move into their chicken marsala, but the fish of the day has never disappointed me, either. Probably the best thing about Il Fiore, I think, is their massive selection of pasta. You can get gnocchi, fettuccine, penne, linguine, and so many more, making this place a pasta-loverâs dream. The Tortilla Press693-695 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Up next, we have our first Mexican restaurant on the list called The Tortilla Press, easily one of my top dining destinations in Collingswood for unique burritos and amazing Tex-Mex food. The thing I love the most about The Tortilla Press is that one of the burritos you can order weighs in at a whopping 5 pounds, so you better make sure you come in on an empty stomach if you plan to take on that monster. They have plenty of normal-sized burritos here too, however, as well as tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, and many more Mexican classics. Woksabi659 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 If you are looking for a nice Asian bistro to grab some sushi in Collingswood, then Woksabi is the place for you. Not only do they have a massive array of fresh sushi to choose from on their menu, but they also offer other traditional Japanese cuisine like ramen noodles, tempura, edamame, and much more! One thing I recommend is a bowl of their delectable tonkotsu ramen along with a volcano roll to give you the complete Japanese dining experience. Healthy Garden Cafe at Collingswood747 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Are you feeling health-conscious, looking for an all-natural restaurant in Collingswood where you can eat guilt-free? If thatâs the case, then Healthy Garden Cafe is exactly what you need. I love Healthy Garden Cafe because all of their food is made with organic, all-natural ingredients and they include plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options on their extensive menu. One thing that I always go to Healthy Garden Cafe for is their gourmet pizza and their unbelievably delicious breakfast menu that you can order off of until 5:00PM. Villa Barone753 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 The penultimate place on my list of restaurant recommendations for Collingswood, NJ, is called Villa Barone, another wonderful Italian restaurant that serves fine cuisine at a fair price for both lunch and dinner. The parmigiana here, both chicken and veal, is absolutely to-die-for, but they also have tons of gourmet brick-oven pizza options, as well as enough homemade pasta entrees to feed all of Italy! Osaka720 Haddon Ave, Collingswood, NJ 08108 Lastly, we come to Osaka, upscale Japanese sushi and hibachi place that I consider to be another great restaurant in Collingswood, by far. Not only can you get some of the freshest sushi and most delicious hibachi cuisine in town here at Osaka, but you can also bring your own bottle to enjoy and save a little money since this is one of the few restaurants around here that has a BYOB policy. My go-to order here at Osaka is almost always going to be a bento box. Usually, I will order the beef teriyaki or the chicken katsu box, but I strongly recommend them all because each one is so tasty. Final ThoughtsCollingswood may be a small town, but it is packed to the brim with flavor thanks to all of these amazing restaurants that line Haddon Avenue, so the next time you find yourself in this charming place, be sure to check off all of the spots on our list to experience the best places to eat in Collingswood.
